Background
and Research Interests:
As liaison to the departments of English, Modern Languages, Music, and Art, I serve students by teaching critical research skills, providing in-depth one-on-one research guidance, and developing a strong and vibrant collection that both meets student need and provides opportunities for serendipitous discovery. A specific area of interest is ethnically diverse resources, and my knowledge of Bollywood films can be explored further on my website, on this guide, or in person.
As a practicing writer, another area of interest is a strong literary collection that represents most aspects of good, inspiring published works. I have added books by such chameleon writers as Kelly Link and David Mitchell, expanded our collection of such current writers as Jane Smiley and Jeffrey Eugenides, and in general updated the collection with new copies of classics and newer scholarship on the classics such as those by Austen, O'Connor, and Cooper.
I am here during the day M-F from about 8-5, except on Thursdays, when I am generally here 8-2 and then 6:30-9:30. If you cannot catch me in my office (because I am with a class or at a meeting), please call or email to set up an appointment.
